At lunch recently I was eating one of the burgers at my Manhattan French Bistro Café du Soleil, and my friend Erika, who is constantly begging for insider tips which she can shamelessly steal for use on her own family and friends, came by to say hello. Between bites, I was spilling my encyclopedic knowledge. Another friend, Nina, happened by, overheard us, and was too sucked in to go back to her own table.
Then it hit me – in the interest of better eating everywhere I really should share this stuff. And thus this blog was born.
Every week I’ll post a different menu item from my restaurant and modify it for home cooking. My focus will be to teach you a thing or two about cooking, especially my approach to writing recipes based on the ratios of ingredients in a recipe. But anything food-centric is fair game, so stay tuned.
